Ousmane Dembele is one player who has suffered a lot due to injuries, some of which admittedly he made to look like his fault. Consistent issues with coming late to training, poor sleep routines, gaming all night, partying, poor tactical understanding, and many others. His discipline and passion were questioned many times but he now looks like a changed man.
Ronald Koeman also has to be given some credit in the evolution of the French International. Earlier this season, even Koeman admitted that Dembele had a lot to improve in the tactical aspect of his game. Koeman was also aware of his fitness issues and made sure he performed extra fitness drills to improve his fitness.
Yesterday, in the game against Ferencvaros, it showed that Dembele had improved a lot as he combined very well with Jordi Alba on the left-wing. Quick one-twos and triangles were formed and at times he displayed sheer individual talent by ghosting past several players.
If his finishing was better, he would have walked away from the pitch with a hat trick to his name. Dembele in full form would cause a lot of havoc to the opposing defense and it’s good that he has starting to prove his worth once again.
