It’s now official that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has now been appointed as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO). With that, there are 11 things you need to know about the DG of WTO as she would be beginning her Era as the WTO DG.
Hours ago, the WTO announced on their official Twitter handle that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is now the Director-General of the World Trade Organization. They also revealed that she would be beginning her Era as the DG on March 1st, 2020.
WTO tweet reads,
“BREAKING: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from Nigeria is appointed as the next WTO Director-General.
“Dr. Okonjo-Iweala makes history as the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO.
“Here term starts on the 1st of March, 2021.
