However, Real Madrid rallied together and got the opening goal despite being one-man down as Marco Asensio continued his brilliant form and fired the Los Merengues ahead.
Jose Luis Morales equalized just before halftime to keep the score level at the break. After the start of the second half, Real Madrid could not cope being one man down as Levante came close to scoring from the penalty spot but was missed by Roger Marti. Real Madrid eventually succumbed to a defeat through Roger Marti, who made amends for his miss from the penalty spot by scoring the winner.
Real Madrid’s loss to Levante means they have handed Atletico Madrid the chance to go 10 points clear at the top of the table. Barcelona could also move to the second spot on the table on goal difference if they win against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
