Lionel Messi’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and this leaves a big question as to where the Argentine international would play next season. According to an exclusive report from Marcelo Bechler, Paris Saint-Germain has offered Lionel Messi a new 3-year contract as they hope to secure the signing of the Barcelona forward.
PSG has been in pursuit of Lionel Messi’s signing for some time but sources from Spain have stated that he is focused on the remainder of the League season and only after then would he discuss contract renewal.
According to Marcelo Bechler, PSG offered Lionel Messi an initial 2-year contract with the option of extending for one more year. Meanwhile, Barcelona is yet to offer the Argentine international a contract extension as it seems like the club plans to wait till the end of the season.
Lionel Messi has been in brilliant form for Barcelona especially in the year 2021 as his prowess helped the Catalan club secure the first trophy of the season during a 4-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey. Barcelona are also strongly in the race to win the La Liga and these factors could determine whether Lionel Messi stays at the Camp Nou or not.
