Breaking News: Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai Removed As The Chief Of Army Staff As President Buhari Appoints New Service Chiefs

It’s good news in the sights of Nigerians as President Buhari appoints new service chiefs in Nigeria as he really thanked the outgoing service chiefs for their overwhelming achievements in securing Nigerians.

One of the service chiefs who was removed that amazed Nigerians the most is Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai. Tukur Buratai is now known to be the former Chief of Army Staff in Nigeria.

Today being the 26th of January, 2021, President Buhari fired the service chiefs as he immediately makes their replacement. The special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina made this announcement today.

In his statement that he revealed, he said,

President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs and their retirement from service.

Femi Adeshina then later revealed those who were removed as Service Chiefs.

Those involved are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

He continued revealing that President Buhari has thanked the outgoing Service Chiefs.

President Buhari thanks the outgoing service chiefs for what he calls their ‘overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to our dear country,’ wishing them well in their future endeavors.

He then revealed the new service chiefs that have taken over immediately.

The new service chiefs are Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

The resident congratulates the new service chiefs and urged them to be loyal and dedicated in the discharge of their responsibilities.”

In conclusion, President Buhari has finally heard the voice of Nigerians after a lot of citizens have asked and urged for the change of these Service Chiefs. A lot have made their complaints that President Buhari appointed these service chiefs since his first appointment as Service Chiefs.
