Manchester City star player Phil Foden has chosen to part ways with the social media company that handles his accounts. This comes after they made a tweet that called out Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe ahead of the Champions League semi-final match against PSG. The tweet read; “@KMbappe, are you ready?”
Kylian Mbappe was very influential to Paris Saint- Germain’s qualification to the semi-final as he scored two goals in the first leg against Bayern Munich to help his team progress. The French man was also influential in the second leg as his team progressed on away goals.
Phil Foden was also very influential in Manchester City’s qualification to the semi-final of the Champions League as he scored a goal each in both legs against Borussia Dortmund. A fine strike from outside the box gave his team the win away against Borussia Dortmund in the second leg.
While many initially saw it as a bold gesture from Phil Foden to call out Kylian Mbappe, it was later confirmed that the English youngster was not aware of it. The tweet has since been deleted but the social media company Ten Toes Media stated thus in a statement;
“We are saddened with the current situation. Since the company was founded we have adopted a process which requires all posts to be approved in advance by the talent or representative, no exceptions.”
The first leg of the semi-final match between Paris Saint-Germain would be played on April 28 while the second leg would be played on May 4. The winner of the match would progress to the final to face either Real Madrid or Chelsea.
