Last year was very disastrous for Barcelona as the club suffered another Champions League humiliation and lost the league to Real Madrid. However, positive news for Barcelona from last year was the signing of Pedri from Las Palmas for €5m.
Pedri has been a revelation for Ronald Koeman’s side this season as he has performed very well despite playing in several positions. He was even trusted by Dutch manager, Ronald Koeman to start in big clashes against Real Madrid and Juventus. His connection with Lionel Messi in the attack has been very encouraging as he seems to understand the movements of the Argentine very well. Ronald Koeman has also hailed him as being very humble and an example for other young players.
Pedri’s market value now stands at a total of €50m, the same as two older players Eden Hazard and Philippe Coutinho. This also means that his value has multiplied tenfold as he was bought for €5m from Las Palmas. Pedri has played in all of Barcelona’s La Liga games so far this season and this shows his massive importance to the side.
