Barcelona has experienced some youngsters have a breakthrough in the first-team squad this season and one of them is Pedri Gonzalez. The Spaniard has been dazzling for the Blaugrana this season after rumors during pre-season that he was to be loaned out to get more playing time.
Pedri has now been called up into the Spanish national team squad for the first time. The 18-year-old has entered Barcelona’s first team under Ronald Koeman and has drawn a lot of praise from coaches and teammates.
Spain coach Luis Enrique has also admired Pedri as he stated that he has the qualities to play in the Spanish national team. He also appreciated the calmness and humility of the 18-year-old.
“In the case of Pedri, he has the ideal condition to play in our midfield. He has the qualities to do so. For some time, we have seen all the possibilities he has to offer. Among the things, I like the most is the calmness and humility he shows on the pitch while being very ambitious. The way he positions himself on the pitch is spectacular.”
Luis Enrique also called up Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba after being out of the national team for a long time. Alba is having a very impressive display this season under the tutelage of Ronald Koeman this season.
