Manchester United was disqualified from the Carabao Cup after losing to Manchester City through goals from John Stones and Fernandinho. The match was very intense as both sides had the opportunity to go into the lead in the first half but it ended goalless at the halftime whistle.
The match was settled in the second half as Manchester United conceded two goals from set-piece situations. Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has now expressed frustration after the Red Devils failed to qualify for the final. He stated that it is ‘annoying’ to lose from two set-piece situations.
“It’s disappointing because it’s not the first one against City at home. We are disappointed with the result, obviously, with the two goals from set-pieces.
It’s very annoying to lose because there is a trophy behind all of this. We have to do better, we have to do better for sure,” Pogba said.
Manchester City would now lock horns with Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final in a match where Jose Mourinho would go against Pep Guardiola with both of them being former coaches at Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
