Erling Haaland is one of the most sought-after forwards in football. He has been performing at a very high level for Borussia Dortmund and his former club Salzburg. Many of the big clubs in Europe such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea have been linked to the signing of the young prodigy.
Haaland has one of the top football agents in Europe, Mino Raiola, and he would most likely play a huge role in which club the Norwegian eventually signs for. Borussia Dortmund has held out for a valuation of £154 million to secure his services although his release clause stands at a valuation of £67 million, which becomes effective from the summer of 2022.
However, according to the Mirror, Mino Raiola plans to make Erling Haaland a player who earns £1m-per-week. This is a very high price even for clubs who are financially buoyant and this potentially rules many clubs from acquiring the services of the Norwegian.
With Barcelona in a debt crisis, it seems that the Catalan club may not be in contention to acquire his services. Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola has also ruled out his club’s chances of signing a striker this summer. Only time would tell how this transfer situation would eventually end although Borussia Dortmund seems resilient in keeping their player.
