Since the schools in Lagos State vacated from the 1st term of the 2020/2021 academic session, the Lagos State had indefinitely asked schools to close down indefinitely due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria and majorly Lagos State.
Now, the Lagos State government has now set free the public and Private schools in Lagos State to begin activities on the 18th of January, 2021. This information was revealed by the Commissioner for Education of Lagos State, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo.
Mrs. Folasade there asks all Schools in Lagos State to do all their possible best to comply with all the outlined COVID-19 requirements for resumption. The commissioner made known that this information is not just for the improvement of overall school operations, but for the safe reopening of academic activities to support the Lagos State Government’s quest for a full return.
When are Schools in Lagos State resuming for 2nd term? 18th of January, 2021
Mrs. Folasade then asked all teachers, students, and visitors to wear face masks always, observe physical distancing, embrace regular handwashing with soap under running water and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene within the school premises.
The commissioner did also advised all schools to make plans where students and teachers who fall sick could learn or teach at home via Online platforms. She asked the schools to prevent any COVID-19 prevention among all peoples (students, teachers, visitors) in the school.
In conclusion, the COVID-19 infection seems to have affected the Educational system in Lagos State, but happily, it’s coming back to normal as schools are now allowed to resume on the 18th of January, 2020.
