Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp has lamented his team’s failure to finish off chances as the Reds got eliminated by Real Madrid from the UEFA Champions League.

The match started with high intensity with crunch tackles flying around, one on Karim Benzema and another by Casemiro on James Milner. Liverpool was arguably the better team on the night especially in the first half as they had a lot of chances but failed to capitalize on them. Thibaut Courtois was also brilliant as made outstanding saves to keep the scoreline level.

Jurgen Klopp praised his team for playing well but stated that the result of the match would have been different had his team finished off one of the early chances they had.

“We didn’t lose the game tonight, we lost it in Madrid and that is clear. The level of performance was good enough and had we gone 1-0 up it would have been a different game.

It was uncomfortable for Madrid. We were good, we were aggressive, we played some really good stuff, had massive changes at the beginning of the game,” Klopp said.

Jurgen Klopp’s team would now turn their attention to the English Premier League as they aim to finish the season in the top 4 spots and gain qualification into the Champions League next season.
