Jose Mourinho has signed a 3-year deal with Italian Club Roma to become the head coach. This comes after he was dismissed from Tottenham a few days before playing in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Many would consider Jose Mourinho’s time at Tottenham as being below expectations as he failed to win a trophy during his time at the London club. According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho was the ‘top secret’ choice for AS Roma and Mauricio Sarri was never considered to take over as head coach.

Club president Dan Friedkin and vice-president Ryan Friedkin have revealed that they are thrilled to have the Portuguese manager as coach of AS Roma.

Jose Mourinho has now expressed his desire to take over as head coach from next season.

“After meeting with the ownership, I immediately understood the full extent of their ambitions for AS Roma. The incredible passion for the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I cannot wait to start next season,” Mourinho wrote.
