Borussia Dortmund seems to be losing a claim to the Bundesliga trophy as they lost 4-2 against Borussia Monchengladbach. Jason Sancho made 2 assists in the match in a bid to put his recent poor performances behind him. Dortmund started the match looking very shaky as Gladbach scored a goal but was ruled out by the VAR.
However, Gladbach kept pushing and scored in the 11th minute through Nico Elvedi. However, Erling Haaland who has been in brilliant form scored the equalizer from a tight angle after excellent work from Jadon Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund took the lead in the 28th minute as Sancho did excellent work again to beat his man before playing a quick one-two and finding Erling Haaland who fired the ball into the corner of the net.
Unfortunately for the Dortmund team, the work from Sancho and Haaland was undone as the defense crumbled, allowing Elvedi and Ramy Bansebaini to score at either side of halftime to restore the lead to Borussia Monchengladbach. The fourth goal from Marcus Thuram foiled the efforts of Dortmund to achieve a comeback.
A positive one for Dortmund is the potential return to the form of their star man Jadon Sancho after having a poor start to the season. Sancho was linked to Manchester United continuously during the summer but the Red Devils failed to acquire his services as the asking price for the English international was not met.
