Frank Lampard could be on the verge of losing his job after a 3-1 humbling at the hands of Manchester City. Chelsea conceded three first-half goals from Ikay Gundogan, Phil Foden, and Kevin De Bruyne before Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a late consolation for Chelsea.
The pressure is now mounting on Frank Lampard after he has failed to impress despite big-money signings in the summer transfer window. Chelsea spent a lot of money during the summer to buy players like Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Eduoard Mendy with a majority of the signings yet to hit their stride in the Premier League.
According to The Athletic, the Chelsea board are looking for alternatives to replace Frank Lampard if he is unable to turn things around in the near future. Chelsea now lies in the eighth position on the EPL table, 7 points behind table-toppers Liverpool having played a game more than the Reds.
Lampard now has a big task ahead of him as the Blues cannot afford to drop any further points or else there could be a sack looming for Frank Lampard.
