Everton manager Carlo Ancelloti has confirmed that midfielder James Rodriguez would miss Everton’s next two matches due to an injury. James Rodriguez has enjoyed a bright start to life in the Premier League but has been sidelined due to a calf injury that has already seen the Columbian international miss the last four games.
Carlo Ancelloti also stated that Richarlison is being assessed after suffering a head injury after a collision with Eric Bailly during Everton’s 2-0 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday. Ancelloti stated that Brazilian International would have to stay out if he has a head concussion. The Premier League rule states that a player would not be able to play for six days if he suffers a head concussion.
“If he [Richarlison] has a concussion, he has to stay out, we have to follow the protocols and we have to be able to replace him better than when he was not here.
Also, for the next two games James would not be available,” Ancelotti said,
Everton would face Sheffield United on boxing day. Sheffield is enduring a tough campaign as they sit at the bottom of the table with only two points from 14 games.
