Barcelona and Juventus have had a rough start to the season as both sides have been struggling in the league. While Juventus are behind AC Milan and Inter Milan in the league, Barcelona is seventh on the Spanish league table and 12 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.
While both sides have already qualified for the knockout stages of the UCL, Juventus have a huge load of work on them if they are to top the group as they have to win by more than a two-goal margin. The presence of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch would also attract viewers to match the potential mouth-watering match.
Ronald Koeman’s side continued their poor form in the league after a 2-1 defeat to Cadiz. Salt was added to injury when Ousmane Dembele was confirmed to be injured. His expected return is to be in three weeks and that means he is out of the Juventus game.
The likes of Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto, and Samuel Umtiti are also expected to miss the match due to injury. Sergio Busquets is expected to retain his place in the lineup and be partnered by Frenkie de Jong.
Oscar Mingueza is expected to return to the bench against Juventus as Ronald Araujo has now fully recovered from injury. In attack, Pedri is expected to take the place of Ousmane Dembele on the left-wing with Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann retaining their places in the starting eleven.
Juventus needed an 89th-minute winner from Leonardo Bonucci to win against Torino over the weekend. Merih Demiral, Gianluigi Buffon, and Giorgio Chiellini are all expected to miss the match against Barcelona. Juventus is expected to line up in a 4-4-2 formation with Ronaldo and Morata in the attack. Aaron Ramsey is also expected to have a place in the lineup and partnered by Adrien Rabiot.
Barcelona likely starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, De Jong; Pedri, Messi, Trincao; Griezmann.
Juventus likely starting lineup: Szczesny; Cuadrado, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro; Kuluveski, Rabiot, Ramsey, Chiesa; Ronaldo, Morata.
We predict a 2-1 win for Barcelona.
