Barcelona legend, Gerard Pique has confirmed his plans to retire at Barcelona. Gerard Pique, who recently celebrated his 34th birthday, explained that he doesn’t see himself at any other club than Barcelona.
The Spaniard has been at the heart of Barcelona Defense for many years, winning 29 major titles, including 3 Champions League and 9 La Liga trophies.
Gerard Pique has been injured and out of action since late last year. He got injured in a match against Atletico Madrid and is set to miss the first leg of the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain expected to hold in less than two weeks.
Speaking on his retirement plan, the Spaniard said;
“I’ll retire at Barcelona. I’ve always said that. I play football because I’m representing Barca. I don’t see myself on another team. I wouldn’t have the motivation. It would be a drama.”
Gerard Pique has been a core piece of Barcelona’s defense over the years and is currently a stronghold at the back and a huge advocate of the Catalan club. With the worrying form of Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet, the Spaniard is expected to partner Ronald Araujo, who has been in exceptional form, when he returns.
