Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero would leave Manchester City in the summer as confirmed by the club and this means he would have to leave on a free transfer to another club. Aguero leaving the English club would surely be an emotional one as he has made a name for himself at Manchester City and in Europe.
Popular transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now stated that the Argentine is ‘very likely’ to join Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain after the end of the season.
“I think there are two clubs at the moment with good chances, they are talking with people close to Aguero, and I’m talking about Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona has a new board, so let’s see what happens right now with the manager and the board if they will decide to go for Sergio, but for sure they have an interest in Aguero.
…Also Paris Saint-Germain is the other club because they are considering to move for a new striker,” Fabrizio Romano said.
Barcelona may be seen as having a higher chance of signing the Argentinian because the new board would be looking to keep Lionel Messi at Camp Nou. Signing Aguero may be a good way of keeping Lionel Messi at Barcelona for another few years. With the departure of Suarez and Messi’s close friendship with Aguero, a move for Aguero is not very far from coming to fruition.
